Kalum Kabs (“Kalum Kabs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information through the Kalum Kabs website and the Kalum Driver Hub mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use our website, services, or mobile application, we may collect:

  • Name, email address, phone number, and other information you provide to us.
  • Driver account and identification information.
  • Vehicle and shift information.
  • Trip details, including trip type, pickup and drop-off information, fare, payment method, trip status, and related operational details.
  • Passenger or account information required for certain trips, including Charge Slip transactions.
  • Electronic signatures where required for Charge Slip authorization.
  • Settlement, fare, and other operational financial information.
  • Limited technical information such as app version, device operating system, network connectivity status, time zone, and synchronization status.

The current version of Kalum Driver Hub does not request access to your device’s:

  • GPS location;
  • camera;
  • microphone;
  • contacts;
  • photo library;
  • video library; or
  • audio/media library.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and manage transportation services.
  • Authenticate driver accounts.
  • Manage shifts, trips, breaks, and vehicle changes.
  • Record fares and payment methods.
  • Process settlements and operational records.
  • Manage Charge Slip transactions.
  • Generate Shift and Charge Slip PDFs.
  • Synchronize offline trip and shift information.
  • Provide customer and driver support.
  • Maintain application security and reliability.
  • Meet accounting, legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping requirements.

Kalum Driver Hub is not used for third-party advertising or cross-app behavioral tracking.

3. Offline Data Storage and Synchronization

Kalum Driver Hub supports offline operation.

Trip and shift information entered while offline may be stored locally on the driver’s device and synchronized with Kalum Kabs systems when an internet connection becomes available.

Certain authentication or security-related information may be stored using secure device-storage mechanisms.

4. Electronic Signatures

For certain Charge Slip transactions, passengers or authorized individuals may provide an electronic signature.

These signatures may be stored with the related trip or Charge Slip record and used for:

  • trip authorization;
  • billing;
  • settlement;
  • recordkeeping; and
  • dispute resolution.

Electronic signatures are not used for advertising or unrelated profiling.

5. Documents and Files

Kalum Driver Hub may generate, display, download, or save documents such as:

  • Shift PDFs;
  • Charge Slip PDFs; and
  • settlement records.

Downloaded or exported files may be stored on the user’s device. Users are responsible for protecting those files from unauthorized access.

6. Information Sharing

Kalum Kabs does not sell personal information.

We may share information where necessary with:

  • authorized Kalum Kabs personnel;
  • service providers supporting hosting, technology, infrastructure, or business operations;
  • professional advisers;
  • payment or financial service providers where applicable; and
  • government, regulatory, law-enforcement, or legal authorities where required or permitted by law.

Service providers are expected to use personal information only as necessary to provide services to Kalum Kabs.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for business, operational, accounting, legal, regulatory, security, or recordkeeping purposes.

Trip, shift, Charge Slip, settlement, and related records may be retained after a driver’s account is deactivated where required for legitimate business or legal purposes.

8. Data Security

Kalum Kabs uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

These safeguards may include:

  • account authentication;
  • access controls;
  • secure local storage;
  • encrypted or secure communications; and
  • restricted access to operational systems.

No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Cookies and Website Information

The Kalum Kabs website may use cookies, server logs, or similar technologies to support website functionality, security, and performance.

You may control cookies through your browser settings.

10. Advertising and Tracking

Kalum Driver Hub is an operational application for authorized drivers and personnel.

The current version does not:

  • display third-party advertising;
  • use advertising SDKs;
  • track users across third-party applications or websites; or
  • collect device location for tracking purposes.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request:

  • access to your personal information;
  • correction of inaccurate information;
  • information about how your personal information is used or disclosed; or
  • deletion of information where legally available.

Certain records may need to be retained for operational, contractual, accounting, legal, or regulatory purposes.

12. Children’s Privacy

Kalum Driver Hub is intended for authorized drivers and personnel and is not intended for use by children.

13. Privacy Law

Kalum Kabs operates in British Columbia, Canada, and handles personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) where applicable.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technology, legal requirements, or privacy practices.
